I have loved Art ever since I was a little girl growing up in a real life "Fairyland" on Lookout Mountain GA.  I was constantly surrounded by creativity as a child, and remember in ninth grade deciding that I would pursue my dreams of becoming an artist and move to New York City one day. I studied painting and illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated in 2003.  I have been blessed with my experiences of travel, living in New York City, Athens GA, Los Angeles and am currently back to my roots living in the South with my husband and our two amazing kids, Max and Cozy.  After experimenting with different media and styles, I found my true passion to be composing abstracts, large and small.   Many of my pieces are a color-play filled with pops of brightness, while others are more nuetral, using a process of layering, scraping and layering again. My compositions are in a constant state of metamorphosis.  When I set out to begin a painting, I have a sense of composition, but I allow myself to stay open to the changes and movement that inevitably take place.  Sometimes the most unexpected things inspire me, especially living in the deep south.  I love worn weathered paint on abandoned buildings, and the rich colors of rusty trains and barn wood.  Through abstract painting, I am able to combine my love of painting with my love of design.  A painting will immediately set the tone of a room, with color and emotion, and the aim of my works is to always pop a little of that energy into a space.
